		<description>You described some great ideas here. The most important thing to keep in mind is the value of the content. Content of great value is what keeps readers coming. I agree that you have to be the first to cover the news, but don&#039;t put something on the website just to put it there so you can say you were the first one to cover that news. Keep the value of content in mind and you will be rewarded with lots of readers. </description>

		<description>I think there are some great ideas here. I tell my coworkers that we are putting our information in as many channels as possible. Each service you&#039;ve listed is another possible channel to gain a reader/follower.  

They have to stop thinking about how they get news and start thinking about how readers get their news. That&#039;s the whole notion of &quot;focus less on how you publish and more on how your readers read.&quot; Newspapers are historically bad about this. 

A lot of my friends get breaking news headlines on Twitter that answers the &quot;what&quot; and then they&#039;ll head to our site to get the &quot;why&quot; of the story.  

The same goes with videos, photos and everything else you&#039;ve mentioned. 

The other half of this equation comes down to the link economy. 

Newspapers were started as a way to publish information and the web has made that information easily shareable. Why then, would someone want to restrict content that could not be shared? That&#039;s what sites like Youtube and Flickr are for. To help increase your companies brand.
